About AM Mountaineering

My name is Alex McCann and I have turned my passion for climbing from a hobby into a job. Having started to climb regularly at 14, I was quickly finding every excuse to get out to the local crags of the Peak District. I headed to university in Sheffield and ended up spending all my free time over the next 9 years on rock of some description. Now living up in Aberdeen, I'm using my van to spend as much time in the mountains as I can.

Over the years I've been on trips to Morocco, New Zealand, France, Spain, Greece, Czech Republic, Germany and Italy. As well as many shorter trips chasing the weather up and down the UK.

As a qualified and insured Mountaineering & Climbing Instructor, I'm now passing on what I have learned; working across the Scottish Highlands, taking people out to experience the spectacular mountains and rock we have available. My aim is to provide a safe, enjoyable experience for everyone that joins me on the hill.
